Brita water filter: easy to use, cheap to buy
One of the most popular water purifiers is Brita water filter. I do agree that Brita deserves respect for their products, due to its effectiveness. However, in this post I would like to clear out if Brita water filter is really as good as they say. Why is it so popular? Are the customers attracted by a good price? Or the ease of usage?
The basic requirements for any water filter is the ability to clean the water from all types of contaminants, such as chlorine, bacteria, fluoride, drugs, virus, cysts etc. Alhough Brita water filters are produced with the help of advanced technologies; they are not effective for tough contaminants like VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) and TTHMs (Total Trihalomethanes). Well, these contaminants are really hazardous for our health. They can cause severe gastrointestinal disorders. All contaminants can be removed from water if the water is filtered through a combination of different filtration techniques. This can be achieved with the use of water purifier.
While removing the bad stuff from the water, water filters or purifiers should be specially designed to retain essential minerals, such as potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium etc. Brita water filter, as well as other water purifiers cope with this task well.
The quality of water is very important for the health of your family, however, in the long run, such factor, as easy maintainability plays an essential role as well.
A noticeable drawback of Brita is its size. It is really small. If you have a big family, your filter will have to be replaced in a week or so. In this case, you should probably need a water purifier or something bigger than Brita. Otherwise, it will be really frustrating to filter the water for another cup of tea.
In sum, some water filters are better, some are worse. Brita is on the good side. However, before you buy one, think about how much water per day you consume, do a research on different water filters and purifiers, and make a decision. And do not forget, that filtered water is anyway better than unfiltered, even if your water filter is not perfect.
